So sad it's funny

So, yesterday was so bad, it was funny.

Yesterday morning, was play day swap at my girlfriend's house. I thought the day would go so well. 11:00 came too quickly, so I picked up my kids plus one more while his mom was stuck at an appt. While I was talking to the kids asking them how much fun they had at their play day, I saw a cop (driving in the opposite direction) slam on his breaks and flip a U-turn. Oh CRAP!!! I wasn't speeding too much, (47 in a 40mph) but apparently, the speed limit was 35... AHHGGGGHHHH

Ticket.

No way I was talking my way out of that. I dont even know how people do that.
Oh well, there's nothing I could do about it.
I pulled into the house and made a lunch for Charity's little buddy and headed out to run a couple errands before taking him to school. I got a lot done in 30 mins and was almost over the whole ticket thing from earlier - really looking forward to taking my kids to McDonalds for another playdate and for me to socialize...
So, I turned off my street and get ready to turn into the school - when, I see the flashing lights AGAIN!!!! (different cop!)

WHAT THE ??????

I knew I hadn't done anything wrong. But, of course, I see SO many people I know in the little school lane... What was THIS ticket for? Expired inspection sticker.

Ticket.

AGGHHHHHH are you serious???? I was so frustrated. This was NOT my day. I headed to KwikKar and got that taken care of. Nate (as expected) messed his diaper while we were sitting in the car place and I couldnt/wouldnt change him there. So I waited for my car to be done and changed him in the car. Of course, it was one of those that smears out and makes a TOTALLY disgusting mess. There was no trash can in sight. So, I drove with dirty diaper IN MY HAND towards McDonalds. I was laughing. I pulled into the parking lot. Charity didnt want McDonalds. FINE. I threw out my diaper and headed somewhere else.

I pulled into TacoBell/PizzaHut - they took forever. My change was going to be $5.51. I hold my hand out and the entire $5.51 in QUARTERS drops all over the drive through. WHAT??? I was expecting 50 cents. The guy came out and only found $5.00 - he said the rest rolled under my car. screw it - keep the 50 cents.

The day got better... but I had to laugh.

Hope you all have a good day today!!!

That is sooo sad. It is so ridiculous that something like that could happen to you in one day that it almost seems "made up"...almost. The "almost" being that you always seem to have unfortunate things happen to you, so I guess that makes it believable. So sad! So sorry! But so funny!

Wow, what a bummer of a day but I got a good laugh out of it...I would have been in tears so at least you were still laughing! :) Hope today is going better for you....

So sorry Emily! Sounds like the poopy diaper just about sums up what your day was like! Got any rich relatives about to croak and leave you a small fortune to pay for those nasty tickets? At least it was for 47 in a 35 zone. I assure you, my ticket last year was WAY more than that! Darn lead foot!

alright lead foot loretta! that has to be the funniest sad story ever. some days are just not good!

At least you can laugh about it. I'd be sobbing! Anytime I get a ticket I start crying. It's pathetic.

Oh, Emily! I can NOT believe they got you twice!! That is just crazy...OK, you're a "hot" girl...didn't you at least try to smile your way out of it? Come on! I always ask for a warning ticket since I have a good record...sometimes they do it. I was so bummed for you reading that! I'm proud of you that you settled on Taco Bell & didn't pull into Chilis for a pitcher of margaritas after a day like that!

Oh, and Charity always looks adorable! She is adorable. And, about Honor's clothes...I have just been lucky to come across some good buys at nice stores (and hand me downs from a rich friend) that I have been able to re-sell on Ebay. It pretty much pays for the whole price of the outfit!

Just clicked on your site--it's been a while.

Sorry about your terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad day. You should write a book. Thanks for the laugh, anyway!

I can't believe that! I am so sorry about your crapy day Em! But glad you can laugh at it, 'cause I sure as heck wouldn't be!

wow, what a day! I probably would be one of the criers too, maybe if you cried you could have gotten out of a ticket! Who knows, those cops are pretty tough!

what a freak-n conspiracy! You know Cop#1 full well could have given you a warning or lumped the expired inspection all together with the first ticket. INSTEAD...he was like, "let's really tick this chick off. I'll call Cop #2 and give him a heads up so he can pull her over AGAIN today for the expired tags...I love making mothers who don't already have enough on their plate really mad!" What jerks is all I have to say.

p.s. can't wait until you get here...did you get my email about ski days???

Ok, not even Steve has gotten 2 tickets in one day - that's amazing! However, the tickets that he has gotten have cost us hundreds.

so sad-what are the chances of that happening-2 tickets in one day?
and i had to laugh about holding the diaper in the car-that is the story of my life. i think it's great when s*&% hits the fan and you can just laugh about it.

Oh no Emily, you poor girl! I am so sorry but, my question is why didn't the first cop realize that your tags were expired? Hmmmm...I don't like cops at all. You and Phil have the same kind of luck with them. Glad your day got better though!!

Sheesh, what luck! I would have cried and gone home and not want to go out for the rest of the day! I'm glad you could laugh about it. Did your husband even believe you at first?!
