Funeral for my sheets

i am so sad. i think i am going to have to permanently retire my FAVORITE sheet set...
i never get this way. i never get attached. i am the queen of purge! but, this one is going to be so hard. a small tear has extended (because it is right at the spot my toes go) to a rather large rip in my FAVORITE high thread count egyptian cotton sheet set.
i just feel like i DESERVE way nice sheets. i dont buy much makeup. i dont buy jewelry (not very good at accessorizing), i dont get my hair done (except once or twice a year i get a trim at great clips), i dont get all those things to feel like a pampered woman. most of my clothes come from walmart or target... ALL I WANT IS A NICE SET OF SHEETS! and my favorite set of sheets is now dead. i am so sad.
honestly, i have tried replacing them. i bought what i thought would be even softer and a slightly higher threadcount sheet set from overstock.com... not as good... not as soft.
so, here i sit. disappointed...silly, and materialistic... and sad. i am sure my husband would just laugh at me, but can any of you relate?

So sorry about your sheets Em. Hopefully for your birthday you can find the best ones ever. (But keep the old ones just in case). Unfortunately I don't care that much about sheets. But I can relate. Too bad I am more of a materialistic makeup, jewelry and clothes gal.

I think it's your bday today. I know, I'm weird, but I remeber birthdays and I remember yours was just a few days before mine. So HAPPY BIRHTDAY!!!

maybe the sheets are so comfortable because you have had them for so long.. they have been washed 100's of times . . . match the brand and thread count online and start washing... over and over and over... I love crisp new sheets.. chad is more the T-Sheet type so we never agree.. but currently i have T-sheets on the bed. so obviously he wins..

Love the new blog heading! I am a sucker for a good set of sheets too. I like the ones that are really thick, but usually I am so tired at night I don't think I would notice what I was sleeping on. But I am sadly a little diff. I would take a pair of designer jeans or a great pair of shoes over really nice sheets..so sad to admitt that.

dont get me wrong... i like my jeans from buckle, shoes... i need help - i have a black pair and a brown pair and 1 pair of tennis shoes... that's all i need right? but sheets - seriously, when you are sleeping in or just wathing a movie, or rolling around, or cuddling... sheets are important! ;)

I did the same thing to my favorite sheets we got when we got married. Dave teases me that my crusty heels put the hole in them, and it's probably true. I got a great pair of 300TC sateen sheets from Overstock.com. They are HEAVENLY! I also love them b/c they came with F-O-U-R pillow cases.

Sorry about your sheets Mo, but I love the drama. The photo, the spot where your toes wiggle, the justification and the passion. Em - I am going to ask Webster to stick this little entry of yours next to the word Allen.
