It must be Thursday

yes, it is YET another verbose and imageless blog post from me.

I have been really busy lately. Every time I am busy, I think of my MOM. She is the queen of independance, and productivity. Seriously, if there is a spare 30 minutes in a day, it is spent cleaning out a closet or getting a project done...I remember my mom always saying "time expands to fit the purpose". Well, mom, you would be proud of all I have gotten done in the last 2 days. BUT, rather than listing it all out (which is exhausting to even think about), I will just say that everything I have done is pretty brainless (like in sewing, running errands, sewing, waiting at appointments, cleaning, kid stuff, school stuff... etc.), and my thoughts have had lots of time for wandering.

If you couldn't tell where this was going, let me just say I have been thinking a lot about my MOM - she was a 'work widow' with 6 kids... I dont know how she did it. We were crazy children, but my mom dealt with us SOOO well. Here, I feel like I am going NUTS, but she handled it all with grace and I am just so impressed with her and all she was able to do. Right now, I am really lonely - Joe has been so busy this week we have hardly had time to talk (our phone conversations have been there, but BRIEF)... I keep trying to feel sorry for myself, but I think of her, and the MILLIONS of other people who have done it without complaining... LUCKILY, my spouse gets home tonight (late). We will hopefully have a good weekend, and I will be recharged for the week ahead.

I just wanted to say how amazed I am by the strength my mom had while we were growing up. Mom, you are awesome, and someday I want to be just like you! I am so glad she is going to move out closer to me! I am SO lucky!

I absolutely agree! Your mom is amazing and always going, going going! I don't think she even drinks caffine and still has all that energy. I love your mom and my mom. Not hard to believe they are sisters. Truly amazing women! You are doing great without your hubby. Hang in there.

Emily, what a great perspective you have. Yes, your mom is an awesome lady. I remember her pretty well when we were on cheer together. Times do get tough with raising the little ones, but you seem to handle things so well and are a very productive person. I can tell you get it from her! Yeah that your hubby is coming home!

SONIC! That is the trick! No just kidding, kind of, but really you seeing those qualities makes you a better wife and mother to your kids. Sounds like you are just as productive! Your kids are lucky to have a mother that cares about this stuff too!

Aren't moms amazing! It is so humbling to look at my mom and realize how much harder her life was and how much she had to deal with, and here I complain about very little things! Moms are great!

a "work widow" that is the perfect word for it. That was my mother, totally! Are your parents moving back to AZ or even closer?

I love the days when you feel like they have been super productive and you take a minute and really appreciate your parents. I wish as children and teens we could see all the hard work that is done to make our lives happier. Good post! Where does Joe go every week? You must adore the weekends!

Keep up the good work Em! I am sure you are alot more like your mom than you think. I have read all of you other posts and all that you do w/o Joe around all week and I don't know how you do it for weeks on end. You're doing GREAT! (Better than I would...that's for sure!)

Well, Emily, if it makes you feel any better I am amazed at the grace with which you handle your kids, your callings, your life in general. You can see you are your mother's daughter!

That is so nice emo... I feel the same way about mom... I am espically gratefull for MOM because she just spent the past week out here watching my kids while Chad and I went to Vegas. It makes me sad that the time I get to spend with her now is so rare. If only we could go back and enjoy the moments while we were younger... OH and possibly change what a bad attitude at least I had... I love MOM, Sisters, etc and my whole family...
I am really impressed with all you do emo.. You Inspire me to get more things done. I SEE TONS of mom's traits in YOU!!!
